Visit Castillo Colomares / Colomares Castle
Situated on the outskirts of Benalmádena Pueblo, the castle is a popular place to visit. It offers some unique photo opportunities and has fantastic views over residential areas of Benalmádena and the Mediterranean.
It’s a 5 minute walk, all downhill from the centre of the pueblo. Coming back is all uphill and so usually takes a few minutes longer 🙂
Christopher Columbus is famous for exploring and ‘discovering’ south america. This monument castle is built to tell the story of his explorations.
Built over a seven year period by a local artisanal builder with 2 helpers, it was started in 1987, and through the stonework tells the story of the discovery of the Americas.
