Benalmádena Pueblo

In the heart of the province of Málaga, Andalucia, Benalmádena Pueblo offers easy access to all of the attractions of the Costa del Sol and is undoubtedly one of the attractions itself.

What's a pueblo?

‘Pueblo’ is the Spanish word for village or small town.

Benalmadena Pueblo is the coastal village set on the mountainside overlooking the coast.  Hundreds of years ago this was preferred rather than a beach location as a means of safety from seaborne Invaders.

Today it means you can escape the busy seafront and enjoy an insight into the Spanish way of life, while the coastline and beaches are still close by.

The province of Benalmadena is made up of 3 main areas; Benalmadena Pueblo, Benalmadena Costa (beachfront) and Arroyo de la Miel which is a pretty and bustling town.

Benalmádena Pueblo, Malaga, Andalucía

Although Benalmadena Pueblo is central to many attractions on the coast, the main attraction is undoubtedly the village itself. It retains it’s typical Andalucian character and charm, with whitewashed houses, narrow streets, and friendly locals. Even in the height of summer when the streets can be bustling with tourists, the village never loses it’s relaxed atmosphere.

It is the perfect place to experience the charm and tranquility of Spanish village life, while benefiting from the beaches and facilities of the Costa del Sol.

There are plentiful restaurants and bars offering good value, and a variety of good food (including delicious local tapas). In the centre you will find Plaza España, with the well known sculpture ‘La nina de Benalmádena’ as well as shops offering local arts and crafts.

Many visitors to the Costa del Sol first discover Benalmádena Pueblo on a day trip for sightseeing, lunch or dinner.  And many of them book their next holiday accommodation in the pueblo itself.  It’s a place where it’s very easy to feel ‘at home’ and many regular visitors can be seen here more than just once a year.
